New Business Strategy for a Long-Established Fruit Shop

We supported a fruit shop with a history spanning over a century in its effort to turn existing assets into a new business pillar. We stayed engaged end-to-end, from auditing the brand, expertise, and customer base through strategy formulation and the creation of sales materials.

CHALLENGEChallenge

With its core business entering a mature phase, this fruit shop, founded over a century ago, believed it needed a new business pillar to drive its next stage of growth. It certainly possessed assets built up over many years: brand strength, product-selection expertise, and a customer base. However, no clear policy or path had been established internally for how to convert these into a new business. What was needed was the work of objectively auditing the value of existing assets and shaping them into an actual business.

APPROACHApproach

We began by auditing the existing assets: brand, expertise, and customer base. We organized this work from the perspective of how the trust and relationships built up over more than a century of history could be repurposed for the next business pillar. Building on this, we formulated a new business strategy and provided end-to-end support through to creating the sales materials needed to communicate the business concept internally and externally. A defining feature of this engagement was staying engaged not just to draft the strategy, but through to shaping it into a form usable in actual sales meetings.

IMPACTImpact

Preparations for launching a new business built on existing assets are now complete, and initial sales discussions have begun. Translating the intangible strengths of a long-established brand, trust and expertise, into a business strategy for the next growth opportunity has become a foothold for driving new business initiatives internally.
