Sales Strategy Development for an M&A Advisory Firm
We supported an M&A advisory firm that could not devote sufficient time to closing deals because deal sourcing depended on individual staff and research work consumed too much capacity. By systematizing sourcing and rebuilding sales strategy, we helped build a structure that lets staff focus on closing.
CHALLENGEChallenge
At this firm, deal sourcing depended on the experience and network of specific individuals and had not become reproducible at the organizational level. In addition, a large share of effort went into researching candidate companies, squeezing out the time available for closing activity. Sales strategy itself was not systematized either, leaving results highly dependent on individual ability. Growing the business required standardized systems on both the sourcing and sales sides.
APPROACHApproach
We first visualized the deal-sourcing workflow and designed a system to standardize what had been an individual-dependent process. In parallel, we developed a sales strategy grounded in the company's strengths and market environment. We also built a structure to streamline research work, and supported execution of sales activity itself on an outsourced basis. Beyond strategy design, we went as far as on-the-ground operations, staying engaged through execution.
IMPACTImpact
Standardizing the sourcing process has created a stable flow of new meetings. With the research workload reduced, sales staff can now concentrate their resources on activities that drive closings. The shift away from a system dependent on individuals has become one of the foundations for sustainable growth.
